Clay 258 is a grey clay with black chamotte. It contains 25% black chamotte (0–0.5 mm), which provides both structure and colour contrast. The clay is plastic and easy to shape, and is well suited for building small to medium-sized objects, rolling, curling and also works for turning for those who can tolerate slightly larger chamotte. A vibrant and tactile stone-like surface can be created by sponging the chamotte before firing – perfect for those who want to give the goods a rustic or artistic character.
- Color: Gives a gray-colored surface with black chamotte dots after firing.
- Firing temperature: 1000-1240°C for optimal results.
- Chamotte: 25% chamotte (0-0.5 mm)
- Areas of use: Perfect for sculpting, rolling, curling, also works for those with less sensitive hands. Suitable for both professional and hobby ceramists.
- 10 kg per package

Storage
Clay should be protected from direct sunlight and preferably stored cool. Recommended storage temperature is 5-18 degrees. Clay is a frost-sensitive product. Keep this in mind when ordering during the winter, Lervis is not responsible for handling the clay during shipping from Lervis to the customer.
Sustainability
Always keep the packaging tightly closed to prevent the clay from drying out. If it has dried out, add a little water and close it for a few days, and it will have softened again and can be kneaded and used. Don't forget the value of recycling all your clay waste. Clay is a fantastic natural material that can be reused many times before it is burned.
