CONTINUATION COURSE IN TURNING
Welcome to a two-day course led by ceramist Nina Bergqvist. This is a course for those who have already started turning and need help and additional technique to progress in size. Everyone has their own turning wheel during the course.
Nina demonstrates how to center large claws, how to get a lot of height in a cylinder and how to turn large bowls and barrels. All participants get plenty of time to practice Independent and individual supervision to be able to develop their skills based on the personal level.
To be able to absorb the course content, you need to have experience with turning and feel that you can center and handle 1 kg of clay.
ABOUT NINA BERGQVIST
Nina is the education manager for the Production Turner training at the Formakademin in Lidköping and also runs her own company, Formfabriken. She has extensive experience working with ceramics and teaching. As the first woman in Sweden, Nina received a Master's Certificate in Pottery in 2017. The Master's Certificate is the highest proof of professional skill in a craft profession and guarantees great professional knowledge and experience. Nina is also a two-time world champion in technical turning. Technical turning involves turning a cylinder as high as possible and a barrel as wide as possible within a time limit.
MATERIAL
You buy your own clay on site for 21 SEK/kg incl. VAT, you can recycle your own clay and then take it home after the course ends or put it in Lervis recycling. So please bring a bucket or plastic box to recycle your clay in. If you want to save your turned products, you can take them home and burn or tell fortunes, we will help you with that for a fee.
FOOD & COFFEE
You bring your own lunch for both days. We will provide afternoon coffee!
TIME, PLACE & PRICE
Saturday, March 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, March 22, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Lervis pottery workshop is located 10 kilometers south of Hjo in the small village of Äskelid. The course fee is paid here in the webshop, then a material cost is added on site depending on how much clay you buy.

CANCELLATION & REFUND
When you pay for the course, you will automatically be registered and booked in your name for the course you purchase. The fee is not refundable if you cancel later than 1 week before the start of the course. As a participant, however, you can transfer your place to someone else if you wish. In that case, you need to notify the name of the person who will take over your course place to info@lervis.se
Should the course be cancelled by Lervis, the full amount will be refunded.

DOWNLOADING COURSE MATERIALS
It usually takes around 2 months before your pieces are fired and glazed. Those who have booked the course will then receive an email stating that it is OK to come and pick up the ceramics. Check the opening hours and pick up your pieces when it suits you. If you would rather have your ceramics posted for a shipping cost, please contact info@lervis.se.
When the ceramics are picked up, the material cost of 100 SEK/kg of fully fired ceramics is also paid.
