A very good tool to have when turning. The wedge works best when wet, so it can be useful to leave it in the water bowl for a while before use. The wedge is a good help for getting vertical, straight edges on the outside of your work or using the rounded side to get a good and even rounding on the inside. Also works well for creating different shapes and edges (see picture).
