Rust red - Powder glaze
Rust red is a wonderfully vibrant effect glaze that comes in rust red tones. It shifts from red, brown, green/brown and sometimes with a little metallic splash.

Effect glazes can vary in many ways depending on the shape and texture of the object, firing temperature and leveling time, how thick the layer of glaze is, how the clay affects the glaze (dark clays, lava flecks or iron-rich clays change the appearance of the glaze). So always test the glaze on different clays and different thicknesses to find the combination that you like best.

Preparing the glaze
The glaze/water ratio depends on the glazing method and the absorbency of the shard. The glaze should have a consistency comparable to condensed milk. Always do glaze tests to find the optimal ratio for your conditions.
1kg of powdered glaze is mixed with 9-10 dl of water.
Sedimentation can be prevented by adding 0.2% positioning means .

Recommended firing range: 1200–1260°
Form: Powder glaze
Surface: Glossy
Food safe: YES
