Giessfix 162 is a setting agent, suitable for deflocculation of most ceramic raw materials. Foundry clays that are deflocculated with this setting agent generally have a wide deflocculation range. This means that natural variations in the raw materials can generally be compensated for.

Giessfix 162 can be combined with most known setting agents, but a combination with Dolaflux B has proven to be very successful.
The amount of addition varies depending on the specific weight of the casting clay and we recommend that you follow the recipes given and do your own tests.

WARNING - Giessfix 162

  • Irritating to the skin.
  • Causes serious eye damage. May cause respiratory irritation.
  • Wear protective gloves: > 8 hours (breakthrough time): nitrile rubber. Wear eye or face protection. Avoid breathing dust or mist. Wash thoroughly after use.
  • IF INHALED: If you feel unwell, call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
  • Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.
  • Dispose of contents/container as waste in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.

Storage
Powdered glaze should be stored dry and out of reach of children.

Store the mixed glaze out of reach of children and frost-free. If the glaze has been sitting for a long time and has had time to evaporate, extra water may need to be added.


General precautions when handling glazes

Keep out of reach of children.

Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/vapours/spray.

Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling the product.

Do not swallow glazes and do not let them come into contact with food.

Use protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection/respirator.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Ensure sufficient ventilation during firing.

Have the packaging or label at hand if you need to seek medical attention.

Collect spillage. Dispose of contents/container to an approved waste disposal facility.

Store in a closed container.

Avoid release to the environment.
