Clay 441 is an earthenware clay that is fired to a light to cream-coloured tone. It contains 45% special chamotte (0.2–0.8 mm) with low dust formation, which gives very good stability and strength when built up. Thanks to its high resistance to thermal shock, this clay is an excellent choice for Raku firing. It is also particularly suitable for larger works where both strength and durability are required – perfect for sculpture, tiled stove tiles or large vessels.

Care instructions

Storage
Clay should be protected from direct sunlight and preferably stored cool. Recommended storage temperature is 5-18 degrees. Clay is a frost-sensitive product. Keep this in mind when ordering during the winter, Lervis is not responsible for handling the clay during shipping from Lervis to the customer.

Sustainability
Always keep the packaging tightly closed to prevent the clay from drying out. If it has dried out, add a little water and close it for a few days, and it will have softened again and can be kneaded and used. Don't forget the value of recycling all your clay waste. Clay is a fantastic natural material that can be reused many times before it is burned.

Orders are shipped by DHL and are shipped on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Delivery time is 2-4 business days.

Pick up at Lervi's pottery workshop
Your order can be picked up on site at Lervis ceramics workshop 10 km south of Hjo. The order can be picked up the next day and the pick-up room is open 24 hours a day.
