Glazing - Beginner's Guide!
Glazes, much like the variety of clays, are a chapter of their own and require both knowledge and a willingness to experiment. Glazes need to be tested and learned; they are like different individuals and need to be treated slightly differently to achieve exactly the result you are striving for. Here are tips for those of you who haven't glazed much before, so that you can learn the basics and avoid common mistakes.

If you are a beginner, we recommend using a clay that works for several different techniques. One that contains about 25% grog with a particle size of up to 0.2 mm.
If you want a light-colored clay, I recommend clay no. 254
If you want a speckled clay, I recommend clay no. 930
Both of these also work well with all glazes. -

We ship orders Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with DHL, and pallets are sometimes shipped with DSV. The delivery time is normally 2-4 business days within Sweden. Pallet shipments may take slightly longer.

No, ceramics must be fired in a special kiln at very high temperatures (over 1000°C–1300°C).
If you are working with air-dry clay, it does not need to be fired at all. Read more about clay no. 751. -
The choice of glaze depends on your clay and the desired effect. Please feel free to contact us - we will help you find the right glaze for your project and clay type.
